PROBLEM STATEMENT
Maison Décor has aspirations to dominate the European paint market however has been lacking the online presence to channel this through.
Part of the re-design is merging their blog and e-shop into one website to increase conversion, as well as to establish a strong social media presence that appeals to the younger generation.
To create one unified website and improve navigation through a consumer centric lens
Become an established brand in the UK and Germany
Partner with micro influencers to attract the younger generation
Increase its portfolio with deco products: paintings, coatings, carpet
Provide deco tips and advice through a large community of decorators
APPROACH
Critical to the success of this project was understanding that painting is not a technical exercise but an immersive artistic experience in the European paint market.
My role was to facilitate project discovery with key stakeholders, deliver mock-up designs and create a presentation deck communicating prospective ideas to win bid.
Shop the look
To align with the vision of the company to be DIY centric and have more feminine appeal, we designed the product page to be highly engaging by creating components that users can interact with. Several concepts of the room visualiser were prototyped and tested with users internally.
With options that had their own pros and cons, we chose to run with the option that displayed a larger living room image with an adding to cart function that popped up as a modal.
Personas are powerful
To create the space where user needs meet business goals I had to dive deeply into understanding the business perspective. Being aware of users’ needs and pain points helped me to achieve just that and create a seamless, end-to-end experience.
