PROBLEM STATEMENT

Cabot’s were primarily focused on a re-platform, to move away from their existing legacy CMS onto Umbraco.

They needed a visual refresh that included a refined Colour Visualiser tool to improve a noticeably cumbersome experience.

APPROACH

My primary role was faciliating project discovery using a user-centered design process that puts the customer’s needs at the heart of what we create.

Design concepts were storyboarded, prototyped and were presented to stakeholders through a series of walkthroughs and presentations highlighting areas for improvement and possible concepts for further exploration. We carried out numerous rounds of iterative concepting and testing to ensure the journeys and interactions were not only beneficial but delighted users.

Colour Visualiser

Through close collaboration with the lead developer and insights gathered from the research team, I was able to fine tune the complexity of the colour visualiser and accurately communicate subtle but necessary interactions.

Learnings

Never underestimate design conventions

Creating something new or different is exciting, especially from a designer's point of view, but constant testing is absolutely crucial for the success of a project.
